Description

Choralis consulting have instructions to recruit a Financial Controller.

The company:- established in the early 1990's and is the UK's No1 leading provider of its services to retail, travel & B2B sectors. They generate revenues in access of £400m and boast a global customer base of over 40,000.

The role:- is to take responsibility for the day to day financial operations of the business. Working closely with the Head of Finance, managing and motivating a team of 15. A highly transactions role, you will need an eye for detail, comfortable prioritising and managing a high volume of traffic and identifying what doesn't look right and initiate corrective measures. Ensure the team is challenged and achieves its goals and targets.
Preparation of the financial accounting, Balance sheet review & reconciliation, initiate investigations into discrepancies and recommend & implement solutions to achieve a smooth flow of information. Ensure best practices and a strong control environment is achieved. You will need a diplomatic and confident approach managing relationships with the project teams across the business. Produce Financial and External reporting requirements accurately, maintain and develop a strong control framework including policies and procedures, preparation of year end and statutory accounts preparation along with various financial ad hoc projects.

The person;- ideally graduate qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA with at least 5-10 years pqe. Strong technical accounting skills with up to date knowledge of current International GAAP, VAT and corporation tax. An eye for detail, with a keen business brain, comfortable making recommendations for improvements. Well presented confident and out going with strong communication skills comfortable being challenged on the day to day operations. A hands on, commercially aware individual, with excellent IT skills (Excel/Dynamics useful) experiences of Change Management & Process Improvement useful as well.
