The reasons why you should have a recruitment agency on speed dial

Speed Dial

Companies all across the UK regularly rely on a recruitment agency to help them find their next top talent. As budgets have been tightened over the last couple years however, it’s understandable that many businesses have been forced to put a hold on recruitment or do it in-house.

As the economy continues to work its way back to pre-recession levels and recruitment freezes have been lifted however, the UK jobs market looks set to change drastically in the coming year.  It is predicted that 54% of companies are expected to hire more staff in 2014 and that one in five employees are looking for a new job.

With such a buzz going on in the industry, here are just a few of the reasons why you really need to have a trusted recruitment agency on your speed dial.

  • The recruitment process is long and requires a lot of effort. From writing out job specs and posting it online to going through the responses and setting up interviews – you are looking at anything from weeks to months before you have your new employee sitting at their desk. When you are trying to carry out your everyday tasks, sifting through hundreds of applications certainly isn’t something you want to be doing. Using a recruitment agency can save you all this time and hassle and because they’re used to doing this day in and day out, chances are that they will be able to get the process completed a lot quicker than you would be able to.

  • Recruitment professionals, especially those who have been in the industry for a long time, will be very well connected. This means that when you phone through with a job, there’s a strong possibility that they may already know of suitable candidates. Even better, they may have worked with them on previous roles so will be able to recommend people based on their personality and work ethic and who will fit in well with your company culture.

  • A recruitment agency can offer you so much more than just placing people into jobs. They live and breathe recruitment and deal with hundreds of clients and candidates every week which means they’re very well placed to offer all kinds of advice. Maybe you’re not sure whether to create a new vacancy or pass the responsibility onto an existing member of staff. If you haven’t recruited for a while perhaps you have no idea what salary you should be paying. If you want to keep the vacancy quiet then you may need another office to carry out interviews or to save time it would be great to have someone else meet a shortlist of candidates before they’re passed onto you.
