There is no doubt about it, the world has gone crazy for anything internet related and nowadays, there is no way of escaping it. Whether it’s social media, online news, emailing or blogging – everyone is trying to get involved.

Whilst this is a brilliant way of communicating with others and opening yourself up to fantastic new opportunities, it does mean that people have had to adopt a whole new way of managing themselves and their company.

What kind of image are you portraying for yourself and your company? Who can see what you’re posting? Are your comments inappropriate or offensive and could they land you in hot water if your employer sees them?

As with anything, there are of course risks associated with joining social networking sites. However, when managed properly these platforms can provide endless benefits from connecting with long-lost friends to being approached with brand new jobs and business opportunities.
